How to Massage the Pectoralis Major

The Pectoralis Major is a large muscle that is prone to tightness and shortening. Bad posture and a curved spine can result in further shortening of the muscle, and is a common reason for back pain. Lengthening the this muscle can help release tension, unlock trigger points and improve posture. Watch the video below to learn how to massage this muscle with the MyoBuddy.

About the Pectoralis Major

The pectoralis major (from Latin: pectus, breast) is a thick, fan-shaped muscle, situated at the chest (anterior) of the human body. It makes up the bulk of the chest muscles in the male and lies under the breast in the female. Underneath is the pectoralis minor, a thin, triangular muscle. In sports as well as bodybuilding, the pectoral muscles may colloquially be referred to as “pecs“.
